I went grocery shopping last night...

And like most times, I forgot my reusable shopping bags...and after my groceries were put away, I was left with a crumpled pile of plastic bags.

I reuse these all the time.  They line my bathroom trashcans, I keep a few in my car for trash or messy baby outfits.  And I always have one full of stuff to return or hand me downs to pass on.

These bags are really handy...but they are ugly!  I never knew how to store them.

Then today, I found yet another use for an empty baby wipes containerA pop-up bag dispenser!

I shoved a plastic bag in through the top of the container, leaving the handles sticking out.

Then take another bag, hold it buy the handles and straighten it out.  Loop the bottom of the bag through the handles of the first one and shove it all in the box.

Repeat until it is full (you can fit a lot!)

And that's it!  When you pull one out, another will pop out of the top.  I keep this box by my changing table.  I don't use a stinky diaper pail.  Just toss the mess in the bag, tie it up and throw it in the outside trash can.

This would also work well under a bathroom sink since it condenses the bags so neatly.

Genius, right? :)

    1. lol Yes, Target has the BEST bags for cat box duty. Safeway's are horrible, they always have holes in the bottom of the bags.

  5. we reuse the wipes boxes for lots of things! Crayons, markers, hair bows, toys, match box cars.... We also use the cottonelle wipes boxes for collecting pop tabs and box tops. Never thought of this idea though. Thanks!

  16. Though I love this idea, I don't think I would use them for dirty diapers. That's a lot of plastic bags going into the landfill.

  19. Good idea. I always have a bunch of those grocery bags. That's a lot better than having them stuffed under the cabinet. It will give my oldest granddaughter a project to do. She loves organizing things. Thanks for sharing!

  20. I feel like a dufus...I can't figure out the looping part-anyone, please help with baby steps since I'm too dense to figure it out-LOL;-) I get the put the bottom of the first bag in the wipey container and the handles are sticking out, but I can't figure out how to get the bag looped thru to get the 2nd bags handles out and ready for the 3rd bag...see-dufus?

  21. You have to loop the bottom of the 2nd bag through the loops of the 1st, and then tuck the who thing in with the handles (of the 2nd bag) sticking out. Does that help at all?

  22. so it's just like folded in half but not really attached...I was looping it thru and it made a locking of both sets of handles...which, not surprisingly, didn't work out;-)
Anyway, I think I figured it out;-) So do you think this is a nice baby shower gift idea-to give a bag of diapers, new tub of wipes, and recycled tub of bags and explain the idea for new mommas?

    1. Haven't tried it yet to see how they pop out but it sounds like a great idea. I just cleaned out my bag drawer and I'm looking for ideas. I have found several but this is the most compact and simple idea yet.

  23. I'm so glad that someone finally commented that using this for paper diapers(already alot going into landfill, that cloth would replace) would mean a lot of bags going into the landfill.

  25. I don't use them for all diapers, just the extra stinky ones. The wet ones just go into our regular trash and emptied every day. I also have lots of other uses for these bags too.

  26. That is a great use for wipe boxes. I use the old Kleenex boxes currently for storing plastic bags. It looks pretty too as those almost always comes with designs :)

  27. I must be stupid cause I can't figure it out! I don't know how you came up with this on your own. I can't even figure it out with step by step directions!

  28. After you put the first bag in, the 2nd one is only looped through the handles a little...just enough to catch it. I then fold it up a bit and tuck it all in. Does that help at all?

  30. Very cool idea! You could also spruce it up a little by decorating the box to coordinate with your kitchen, bath, nursery, etc. I have fabric from making curtains and recovering chairs left over. I think I'll cover some wipes boxes now! Thanks!
