1 cup water, room temperature
3 Tbsp. oil
3 cups bread flour
1 Tbsp. sugar
1 tsp. salt
1 package yeast
- Place all ingredients in bread machine in order per manufacturer's instructions (mine is in the order listed).
- Set for dough cycle.
- Divide dough into 12 pieces, roll and shape each into an 8 inch rope
- Place 1/2 inch apart on a cookie sheet ( I line it with parchment paper)
- Sprinkle with salt
- Let rise until doubled, about 20 minutes
- Bake at 425 for 10 minutes or until slightly browned.
- Mix together 1/2 stick melted butter and 1/4 tsp. garlic powder and brush over warm bread sticks
I am going to have to try these out. I love the bread sticks from Olive Garden. I would be content to just eat them and the dipping sauce when we go.
ReplyDeleteUmm! I really need to purchase a bread machine! I'm featuring you today on Don't Waste your Homemaking!
ReplyDeleteYUMMY I LOVE olive garden breadsticks! Im going to have to make these! My friend has a bread machine, Im gonna have to borrow it! hehe
ReplyDeleteDo you know how much one package of yeast is? I buy yeast in bulk so a measure would help! Thanks :)
ReplyDeleteI buy my yeast in bulk too. Most of the recipes I've made call for a package and I just use 2 1/4 tsp. Sometimes I just throw in 3 tsp. :)
ReplyDeleteThank you Crystal! Looking forward to trying this tonight :)
ReplyDeleteI made them. I am making them again today. I took them to a potluck last time and everyone kept asking, "...who made these??" Ha! They were devoured. You hit the nail on the head with this one!! Thanks for sharing it.
ReplyDeleteI am so happy that you liked them!!! :)
ReplyDeleteOh man, those are my favorite. I wish I had a bread machine.
ReplyDeleteHmmm. How would these be made without a bread machine?
ReplyDeleteI would say without a bread machine to mix dough & let rise in an oiled covered bowl for about 45min. Then make into the bread stick shape and let rise again till double in size then, bake.
ReplyDeletePerfect!!!! My granddaughter helped and she was so delighted about how good they tasted. We will be making these again. Thanks for such a simple recipe.
